We gave Dionne a shout to find out how she's been getting on:

Hello Dionne, what are you up to?
I'm just relaxing at home. I've had my home schooling all day.

What lessons did you have?
It was just English today. Shakespeare.

Are you digging it?
Um, no. I'm hating it. But you've got to do it!

Which play?
Much Ado About Nothing. He went to me, "It's a comedy, do you find it funny?" I was like, "I'll find it funny when we finish it!"

And how's your pop career going?
It's going very well, thanks! I won my first award last week. Best newcomer at the Radio Forth Awards in Edinburgh.

Did you go to the ceremony?
I did. I performed as well, actually.

Who else was there?
My friend Shingai from The Noisettes. And the Sugababes were there. Oh, and Spandau Ballet. It was fun!

Have you been enjoying all the promotion you've been doing?
Yeah, it's been great. Course I'm enjoying it!

We saw you went to the Rihanna gig last week - how was that?
I actually missed her performance, because I was doing a Vivienne Westwood thing - she asked me to sing at her Anglomania show. So I did that and then went along to the Rihanna thing. She was performing at the same time as I was, so I missed her. But we got to the after-party and I just mingled.

Are you good at mingling?
When I want to be! I'm alright, yeah. I saw Tinchy Stryder, who's on the same label as me. And Jamelia - her daughter used to go to the same primary school as me.

What else have you got coming up?
I've got a radio tour. And I'm going to a Taylor Swift concert. I'm a big fan of hers. And her support act is Justin Bieber. I've got the most massive crush on him.

Have you had any luck with boys since becoming a pop star?
Well, a lot of boys are like, "Hey, do you wanna go out with me?" But I'm like, "Who are you?" They don't even know me. They'll be like, "Hi, we should get to know each other." I'm like, "whatever". I don't like any of them, except Justin Bieber!

How old is he?15.Oh, that works then.
Yes, it does work. I will try to work my magic on him!

Have you got plans for Christmas?
I'm just staying at home this Christmas. I've also got some Christmas tracks coming out as B-sides to the next single, which is Ain't No Mountain High Enough. I've done I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus and Winter Wonderland.

Have you started your Christmas shopping?
I haven't. It's really bad. Christmas is like four weeks away! But it doesn't feel like Christmas yet.

Are you a good Christmas shopper?
Well, when I Christmas shop, I tend to buy stuff for myself instead of other people. If I have a list and I'm focused, then I'm alright. Otherwise I do completely the wrong thing!

People are going to be expecting good presents now that you're a pop star!
Oh, well. We'll see about that. I think my mum would like a new car, but I told her when I hit jackpot I'll look after her!

Do you get good presents from Amy, with her being your Godmother?
Yeah, she always gives me nice presents. But the best present was the record deal she gave me!

And what's the plan for 2010?
Hopefully, I'll get my album worldwide - we're hoping to crack America. And I've already started writing for my next album.

Do you have plans to play live?
Not yet. I'm too young to tour at the moment, but at the end of 2010 I'm hoping I'll be old enough to do a tour. I'd really like to!
